Judging By the Look On the Offspring's Faces, I Think I Am

I was just reading this article.

About two-thirds of the way down it says this:

"It is a hip location that is constantly playing Prefuse 73–style blip-hop and specializes in gourmet coffee drinks."

I don't know what that means. What does that mean?

And does it mean that I am old and losing my "hip"?

OK, I'm pretty sure use of the word 'hip' is straight out. The only other part of that sentence I understood was 'gourmet coffee drink.'

I'm right there with you...

I feel that someone made that up to make customers intrigued. Not only do I not know what it means, but I would avoid this place like the plague so that I don't get my laptop jacked, my hop blipped and because I don't drink coffee!

I think we all may need a hip replacement. I tried goggling this and am no wiser on the subject. Did the kids actually know what this meant?

I don't think this is going to help much....from an interview by ptichforkmedia.com..."On record, Prefuse 73 sounds like a cyborg creation caught in a time trap somewhere between the hot buttered soul of the 70s and the Mantronix-era vintage hip-hop of the mid-1980s."

And what is blip-hop?

I've no idea what Prefuse 73 is, what blip-hop is, and how those two things relate at all.

And I'm the coolest person I know.

I felt much better when I realized that you didn't get it either..
